Isabella Weaver (b. 2002) is an emerging mixed-media painter based in San Diego and Los Angeles. She recently received a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA's undergraduate art program, where she worked under Rebecca Morris, Elliott Hundley, Richard Hawkins, and Patty Wickman, artists and mentors who were instrumental to her creative growth. Before transferring to UCLA, Isabella studied classical drawing and painting under Bo Kim at Palomar College. While she specializes in traditional two-dimensional rendering, Isabella has cultivated a well-rounded arts education that spans graphic and 3D design, photography, mixed media, film, and art history. Drawing from her diverse experience and education, Isabella approaches her practice with an adventurous, contemporary, and imaginative outlook. Her work is characterized by keen observation, mixing of media, humor, and the dissection of her immediate surroundings and culture. This leads to striking, rich, and dynamic compositions/collages that the artist hopes will invite enjoyment and contemplation. Isabella currently resides in North County San Diego, where she works as an art instructor and teacher's assistant. Her goal is to continue developing her practice and travel over the next couple years before pursuing an MFA in painting. She aspires to become both a professional working artist and university professor, and to adopt two medium-sized dogs.
